A boil water notice has been issued due to a 2-inch water main break.
Water Distribution Operator Andrea Smith announced in an email Wednesday afternoon that the boil water notice is affecting the following locations: the west side of West Underwood Street, Mary’s Lane, Deerfield, and Angel Lane.
This advisory affects two businesses: Family Promise and the Mt. Yonah Veterinary Office.
The EPD requires notice to ensure the safety of drinking water for the city’s customers in the event of a contaminant entering the system.
Water customers in the affected area should bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food with it.
The city will notify the media when the notice has been lifted.
