Heat index values will be climbing as we head into the weekend.
A large area of high pressure will bring highs up into the 90s by Sunday and through next week. Heat index values of up to 99º are possible across the mountains and foothills, with 100-105º from the I-85 corridor south.
If you have outside work to do, try to do so in the cooler hours of the day. Take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water to fend off any heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
