A month-long drug investigation in Towns County culminated in an arrest following a traffic stop on Wednesday, May 21.
According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, investigators had been conducting surveillance and increased patrols in response to community complaints about suspected drug activity in a specific area. Their efforts led to a traffic stop, which subsequently provided investigators with information establishing probable cause to search a residence on Woods Grove Road.
During the search, investigators allegedly discovered a quantity of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
As a result, James Harrell Moore III, 44, of Young Harris, was taken into custody. He faces multiple charges, including felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects.
