Oakwood residents arrested at area hotel on drug trafficking charges

Hall County Sheriff's Office, Lanier Drug Task Force make arrests at Jameson Inn

A joint operation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and the Lanier Drug Task Force resulted in the arrest of two Oakwood residents on drug trafficking charges.

39-year-old Ricky Lee Blackwell and 32-year-old Lauren Rutledge were apprehended on Wednesday, May 14. Authorities took them into custody while executing a search warrant on a room at the Jameson Inn on Thurmon Tanner Parkway, an HCSO spokesperson says.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators seized approximately 64 grams of fentanyl and 60 grams of methamphetamine during the operation. The drugs have an estimated combined street value of $15,515.

Both Blackwell and Rutledge face charges of trafficking fentanyl and trafficking methamphetamine.

Deputies booked them at the Hall County Jail where they remained without bond Friday morning, May 16.
