A Gainesville man was arrested this week following an investigation into an alleged improper relationship with a middle school student, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
Eduardo Abinadab Landino, 27, was taken into custody by Hall County’s Warrant Service Unit deputies on Tuesday afternoon, May 6, during a traffic stop near his residence southeast of Gainesville. Landino faces felony charges of enticing a child for indecent purposes and grooming a child for indecent purposes.
Authorities say the investigation began on March 5 after Hall County School District administrators notified a School Resource Officer about allegations involving Landino and a female student at West Hall Middle School. Landino was employed as a math teacher at the school when the report was made.
Hall County Schools Director of Communications Stan Lewis says school officials placed Landino on leave when it was brought to their attention that he had sent excessive text messages to a student.
Lewis says the school district referred the situation to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation. Investigators confiscated Landino’s phone.
Preliminary findings from the investigation allege Landino used phone calls, text messages, social media, and in-person conversations at the school to groom the victim for sexual acts. Authorities say investigators also determined that on one occasion, Landino allegedly drove the victim home from sports practice and solicited oral sex.
Investigators believe these incidents began in January and continued until the initial report was filed. Warrants for Landino’s arrest were obtained on May 5.
“When confronted with this information, Mr. Landino resigned his position on March 7, 2025,” says Lewis.
Hall County’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is continuing its investigation. Landino is currently being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.
