The City of Clarkesville has announced the cancellation of the First Friday Fun event scheduled for this evening, May 2, 2025, due to severe weather conditions. The National Weather Service has issued warnings for thunderstorms capable of producing flooding downpours and damaging wind gusts in the area. The event, which was set to take place from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 1423 N Washington St, features live music, food vendors, boutique shopping, and family-friendly activities.
Main Street Director Colby Moore said, “We made the decision to cancel First Friday due to the impending weather tonight. Our musician, who was scheduled to play, will now be playing at Frescos from 5:30-8pm.”
City officials prioritize the safety of residents and visitors and appreciate the community’s understanding. For updates on rescheduling or future events, please contact Clarkesville Main Street at (762) 230-1962 or email [email protected].
