On April 30, 2025, Martha Geraldine Holcomb, age 99 ½, born on August 3, 1925, took her Heavenly Flight to join the Kingdom of God! She was born in Habersham County where she spent her entire life. Mrs. Holcomb was the daughter of the late George and Herclean Pardue. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings John “Pedro” Pardue (Jinx), Brenda Porter and Aliene Ray (Earl). Mrs. Holcomb was married to the late Walter Franklin Holcomb for 62 ½ years. They had three children, Deborah Hicks, Douglas Holcomb (Sue), and Randy Holcomb (Angela), many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, who all loved her and she loved them. A sister, Ernestine “Tootsie” McEntire, also survives. She was the matriarch of the Holcomb Family.
In her professional career, Mrs. Holcomb attended Atlanta Beauty School to become a cosmetologist and successfully and happily worked in that profession for many years. Mrs. Holcomb was a wonderful mother and loved her Bethlehem Baptist Church family where she enjoyed serving by teaching children and Sunday school for 40 years, as well as singing in the choir. She delighted in serving others thru visiting, cooking wonderful meals and talking to everyone. She will be missed but not forgotten! Heavens Gain!
A celebration of her life will be held. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, or to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
