Bogart woman charged with vehicular homicide

A Bogart woman faces vehicular homicide charges in the deaths of two pedestrians who were struck and killed in Athens.

The double fatal crash occurred on the evening of April 25 near the intersection of Gaines School Road and Lexington Road, according to police.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department says 58-year-old Amy Morgan of Athens was pronounced dead at the scene. 31-year-old Anthony Braxton, also of Athens, was transported to a local hospital. He later died of his injuries.

The driver, Lois Dua, was uninjured. Police charged her with second-degree vehicular homicide and two counts of failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
