It was an evening 25 years in the making and the culmination of a $20,000 drive to support the North Georgia Community Players in Dillard.
NGCP’s 25th Anniversary Gala on April 26 took place in the same historic schoolhouse that houses the theater group’s stage and Dillard City Hall.
Actors from the local community playhouse and arts supporters from around the region attended the exclusive, black-tie event for more than 100 attendees. Friends from neighboring community theaters were among them, including Lynne and Bob Warren, who are also actively involved in the leadership at Habersham Community Theater.
The evening mixer included musical dance numbers and an auction. The money raised will support the theater’s ongoing productions, children’s programming, and possible expansion.
Since its founding 25 years ago, NGCP has staged more than 60 shows. Ahead of the gala, NGCP President Mark Benson said, “We found a way to both thank our existing patrons and to help us raise the money for even more exciting shows and special events for years to come.”
