Hall County breaks ground on high-dollar connector project

Hall County officials break ground on Sardis Connector project (Hall County Government)

Hall County officials, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), officially broke ground Thursday, April 17 on the long-anticipated Sardis Road Connector project.

Officials say the $84.3 million connector project will provide a critical link between State Route 53 and State Route 60, offering residents and commuters a safer and more efficient transportation route through the area. The project has been years in the making and is considered a significant step forward in enhancing regional infrastructure.

Funding for the Sardis Road Connector was made possible in part by the county’s Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program, which continues to play a vital role in improving local infrastructure thanks to the support of Hall County citizens.

County officials were joined by community members, local leaders and representatives from GDOT to celebrate the milestone. Special recognition was given to Hall County Parks and Leisure staff for their ongoing support at community events and to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office for providing traffic assistance during the ceremony.

Construction on the connector is now underway, with completion expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the region.
