Driver injured when truck overturns on GA 15/US 441 in Rabun County

Preliminary investigation reveals truck driver was traveling too fast for conditions

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, this truck overturned in a curve on GA 15/US 441 South in Tallulah Falls. Authorities have not released the driver's name.

A commercial truck driver was injured when his rig overturned on GA 15/US 441 in Rabun County.

State troopers responded to the wreck shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11. According to their preliminary investigation, the vehicle was southbound, negotiating a right-hand curve. The driver told the responding officers that as he entered the curve, the truck made a “weird movement to the left, and he then felt the truck shift to the left.”

The truck overturned onto the driver’s side and slid approximately 50 feet.

Troopers say the driver was “traveling too fast for the conditions of the roadway.”

The wreck shut down the road temporarily. Georgia State Patrol Post 7, which investigated the wreck, has not released the full report and it is unclear whether any charges will be filed against the driver.
