On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the United States will observe the 74th annual National Day of Prayer, a day dedicated to unified public prayer for the nation. This year’s theme, “Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled,” is inspired by Romans 15:13, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
The theme emphasizes seeking spiritual fulfillment through prayer and faith, turning to God as the ultimate source of hope, joy, and peace.
A Visual Representation of Hope
The official artwork for the 2025 National Day of Prayer, painted by UK artist Julie Ann Scott, visually encapsulates the essence of this year’s focus. The painting draws inspiration from Revelation 19:11-14, depicting a powerful image of Christ on a white horse, symbolizing His faithfulness and righteousness.
Notably, the artwork includes seven lampstands on the shore, representing the seven churches from Revelation 2 and the seven centers of influence in society: Church, Family, Education, Business, Military, Arts, Entertainment, Media, and Government. This imagery underscores the call for believers to be light in the world, illuminating every sphere of influence with hope and truth.
