Demorest lifts boil water advisory for parts of city

The city of Demorest has lifted a boil water advisory in effect for residents along Cedar Avenue to the end of Holly Street, Walnut Avenue, Tennessee Street and Porter Street, according to city officials.

The advisory came as city crews updated fire hydrant systems in that part of town.

Residents of Glory Lane, Hazel Wood Drive, Carl Loudermilk Road and areas along Hazel Creek at the Camp Creek intersection to the intersection of Dicks Hill still are advised to prepare for a temporary water outage on Thursday, March 6.

Residents in that area are urged to take precautions and use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking and personal hygiene until further notice.
