A two-vehicle wreck on GA 72 in Elbert County Monday seriously injured a 9-year-old boy. Paramedics life-flighted the boy to Greenville Memorial Hospital following the crash, the Georgia State Patrol says.
At approximately 4:36 p.m. on March 3, troopers from Post 52 (Hartwell) responded to the wreck. They say a westbound Toyota Corolla attempted to turn left onto Robinwood Lane and pulled into the path of an eastbound Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep struck the Toyota’s passenger side, seriously injuring the boy who is from Elberton.
The driver of the Corolla, 71-year-old Dennis Glaude, also of Elberton, sustained minor injuries.
An 11-year-old boy in the Corolla and the Jeep driver, 53-year-old David Edwards, both of Elberton, were not injured.
Troopers say no impairment was suspected. Charges are pending.
