A 43-year-old Colbert man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading deputies on a high-speed chase in Hart County on Wednesday, Feb. 26, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the pursuit began around midnight when deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle with a mismatched tag.

When the deputy activated emergency lights and siren, the driver, later identified as Jeremy Brandon Kizziah, allegedly fled the scene and triggered a chase across several roads and yards before reaching Elberton Highway.

Deputies deployed stop sticks, which flattened several of the vehicle’s tires, according to police.

The pursuit ended when Kizziah crashed the vehicle in a field near the Hart EMC parking lot. Despite fleeing on foot, the suspect was apprehended following a brief search by deputies. Kizziah was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Lavonia for medical clearance before being booked into the Hart County Jail.

Kizziah is facing multiple charges, including five counts of felony fleeing, possession of cocaine, possession of drug-related objects and numerous traffic violations.
