A Blairsville man was arrested on a series of felony charges early last week, according to the GBI.
Authorities say Michael Warren, 34, of Blairsville was taken into custody and charged with multiple felony offenses – including rape, aggravated sodomy and sexual battery – on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
The arrest follows a report received by the Union County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, Feb. 16, regarding an alleged sexual assault. In response to the report, the sheriff’s office sought assistance from the GBI, prompting an investigation into the incident.
At the time of his arrest, police say Warren was employed as an HVAC technician with Union County.
Warren is currently being held at the Union County Detention Center, where he remains pending court proceedings.
