AOCS (Ret. Navy) Roy “Rob” Earl Roberts, Jr.

AOCS (Ret Navy) Roy Earl Roberts, Jr., “Rob,” completed his journey with us on Monday, February 24, 2025. He now joins hands with all the beautiful souls of family and shipmates that have gone before him. Together, as they stand in the presence of our Savior, may we all find comfort in the memories they have left us all.

Rob served with dignity and honor for 22 years in the United States Navy, upholding our freedom and protecting our country. To Rob and all those who have served and continue to serve, we salute you and thank you for your service.

Rob retired to Habersham County in 1998 with his wife Jackie, son, Roy Earl Roberts III, and daughter Katie (Roberts) Allison to what he described as “God’s Country”, and he was right. He spent 20 years working in Rabun and Habersham County School Systems. He considered this job a privilege to have. He shared with our youth how important education is, building a strong character and how to make a positive mark on those around you.

Throughout his years he blessed many with his voice and love of music. He would share sea stories about the places he visited while in the Navy and amazing people he served with. He lived life to the fullest with a laugh that was contagious and always saw the good in others.

Rob’s biggest pride was his family and hoped he had taught his grandchildren: Adrien, Braylon, Chanley, Bree, Nolen and Paisley the importance of honor to self and others.

Rob was blessed to be surrounded by family and an amazing hospice team from Gainesville.

Rob wished to be cremated and scattered at sea with his brothers and sisters who served so proudly.

In lieu of flowers, his request was to support Pruitt Hospice 2545 Flintridge Road NE, Suite 110, Gainesville, Georgia 30501 as they did him and his family through this time.

He will be so missed; our hearts are broken and will only heal with faith and the knowledge that we will see him again.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, North Chapel at 245 Central Avenue, Demorest, Georgia 30535. Telephone: 706-778-1700.
