Warriors fall to Indians in round 1 boys playoff action

The White County Warriors played Wednesday night against Lumpkin County in round 1 of the Boys 6-AAA Playoff.

White County came out quick with back-to-back 7-0 runs, giving The Warriors a 4-point lead at the end of the first period. To keep from repeating last week’s meeting, The Warriors kept a hard drive in the second quarter to extend their lead before the half, 32-27 Warriors.

A quick 7-0 run from the Indians out of the break would allow them to slip ahead, fueling the Warriors to hunker down and drive a stream of steady shots, ending the period down, 42-48 Indians.

Starting the final quarter, the Warriors would once again push and drive hard, bringing it to a 1-point game with only 90 seconds in the game. Back-to-back turnover steals by Lumpkin County would seal the deal and the Indians would win the game with a final score of 61-56.

The White Couty Lady Warriors will play again Friday evening in the semi-final round against the Chestatee War Eagles.
