The average price of gas in Georgia has risen slightly from a week ago, according to auto group AAA.

Regular unleaded gasoline is now averaging $2.94 per gallon – a 1-cent increase compared to both last week and last month – and though 8 cents lower than the price this time last year. On average, it costs Georgians $44.10 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline, nearly $2.00 less than a year ago.

“Crude oil prices have not seen a significant change this week. Therefore, Georgia pump prices remain steady for the most part,” AAA spokesperson Montrae Waiters said. “However, there is an impending concern that tariffs may cause an increase in gas prices across the country. Right now, it is just too early to predict.”

National Gas Prices See Small Increase

The national average for regular gasoline has risen by 4 cents to $3.13 per gallon since last Monday, partly due to the ongoing threat of tariffs. Gasoline demand has slightly increased from 8.30 million barrels a day to 8.32 million. Domestic gasoline supply rose from 248.9 million barrels to 251.1 million, but gasoline production has decreased, averaging 9.2 million barrels daily.

Oil Market Dynamics

Crude oil prices saw a drop last Wednesday, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) settling at $71.03 per barrel after falling $1.67. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), crude oil inventories rose by 8.7 million barrels, bringing the total to 423.8 million barrels, which is about 5% below the five-year average for this time of year.
