The Hush, a new Cuban restaurant coming to Washington Street in Clarkesville, is one step closer to opening on the square.
The restaurant, owned by husband and wife Alberto Rodriguez and Alicia Sosa, was approved for an alcohol license at a council meeting Monday, Feb. 3.
After starting the first location of The Hush in Clayton in 2019, Rodriguez said the couple is tentatively aiming to open its doors to the public in the next three weeks – though that could be subject to change.
“We have everything in place to be ready, but it all depends on the health department,” he said Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Rodriguez went on to say that both he and his wife are eager to bring their unique taste of Cuban cuisine to Habersham County.
“We’re feeling good about it,” he said. “We have a lot of expectations for that restaurant. There’s a good vibe we have for that restaurant. We have finance goals for this particular property, and we know that we’re going to meet them slowly but surely.”
