Have a special moment by the Big Red Apple in downtown Cornelia?
With 2026 set to mark the 100th anniversary of the iconic monument, Peter Madruga of the history preservation group Habersham Education & Research is asking the public to submit those special moments – either in photos, written form or both.
“Tell us about your favorite moment in front of the Big Red Apple, and we’d like to use that to tell the story of the Big Red Apple,” Madruga said. “…we’re gearing up to get ready to celebrate 100 years of that wonderful, big shiny Red Apple.”
