Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville is hosting a the community family-friendly event celebrating the opening of its newest addition, The Green Tower. Located at 743 Spring Street NE, Gainesville, Georgia, the Green Tower is designed to enhance access to life-saving and life-changing care. The grand opening will take place on Saturday, February 8, but you can get a sneak peek at the upcoming facilities during a public event on Saturday, February 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including giveaways, live music, self-guided tours, free food, and a touch-a-truck experience. It’s the perfect opportunity for families to explore the new tower and learn more about the services it will offer.

Parking is available at designated off-site lots, with complimentary shuttle service running regularly to and from the event. Please allow extra time for shuttle transportation.

What’s New at The Green Tower:
The Green Tower will house a variety of new features designed to improve care for the community:
Expanded Emergency Department: The existing ED, one of the busiest in the state, will move to the ground floor of the Green Tower. It will be expanded to accommodate more patients and include specialized spaces for pediatric, trauma, resuscitation, minor care, and behavioral health services.
Helipad: A new helipad on the tower’s roof will provide faster access for life-saving trauma, heart, and surgical care.
Heart and Vascular Services: The Georgia Heart Institute will offer seamless care for heart patients, with diagnostic testing, cardiac catheterizations, and open-heart surgery all under one roof.
Spacious Waiting Areas: The tower features large, natural light-filled waiting areas with expansive views for families.
New Café: A new café with a variety of food options and plenty of seating will serve both patients and visitors.
Additional Operating Rooms: More operating rooms will be added to accommodate a growing number of surgeries and procedures.
More Beds: The project will increase bed capacity by more than 150 beds over time.
New Parking Deck: A new parking deck will provide additional parking spaces for patients and visitors.
Greenspaces: The tower will feature extended and newly created outdoor areas for relaxation and reflection.
