She fought the good fight, a young woman with so much to live for taken too soon.

Brittany Anderson was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma, a form of skin cancer that spread to her liver, lungs, and the bones in her spine.

Kipp Jackson, the agriculture teacher at Banks County High School, shared how Brittany’s vibrant energy and positivity left a lasting impact on everyone around her.

“I taught her when she was in high school, and after she graduated, she would substitute teach for me when I needed to be out. My students loved her. If I had to miss class, they’d always want her to fill in,” he says.

Brittany graduated from Banks County High School in 2011.

Brittany earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Physical Education and had a passion for competing as a triathlete, riding motorcycles, creating art, and helping animals.

Her husband of five years, Daniel, devoted himself to caring for her as the couple ran their business, Resurrected Garage, together. Without medical insurance, the cost of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation placed a heavy financial strain on them.

Brittany passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 32.

To help her family with expenses, the Banks County High School FFA is sponsoring a Boston Butt fundraiser on Friday, January 31, 2025. You can pick up at BCHS Ag Facility from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $40 each.

To purchase a Boston Butt and/or donate to Brittany Anderson, you can Venmo @BanksCounty-FFAAlumni or email Kipp Jackson, [email protected] or buy tickets from an FFA Alumni member.

The deadline to order a Boston Butt is Monday, January 27.
