Representatives from Goodwill of North Georgia joined representatives from the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to officially cut the ribbon on the new Goodwill Career Center in Cornelia.
Goodwill of North Georgia may be new in town but it’s already making a positive difference in some people’s lives here in Habersham.
Michael Wylie is among the one-hundred people the non-profit says it’s put to work since opening its doors back in September. Wylie says, “Goodwill is a good place to come and I am glad to have them in my life.”
That sentiment was echoed by others who turned out October 22 for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Goodwill’s Career Center.
Local business and educational leaders voiced their support during the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce sponsored event. Employers said they’ll be holding job fairs, interviews and training at the Career Center located in the old Walmart shopping center at 308 Habersham Hills Circle in Cornelia.
