(Cleveland) – The Cleveland City Council during their regular meeting Monday night voted to approve amending the city’s Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance.
During the second reading of the resolution, Economic Development and Planning Director Tom O’Bryant stated that the amendment changes the definition of what is now called ‘Inside Square Area’ to ‘Downtown Economic District.’
In doing so, O’Bryant said the boundaries would also change. The new district has been extended north just beyond the Helen Highway, west to North Avenue, south to beyond Old Highway 75, and east to near Cagle Street.
This is for the consumption of alcohol on the business premises. All distance limitations in the new district have been reduced to zero feet for businesses located there.
