Authorities are investigating two separate accidents in White County that injured six people. The first wreck occurred on Highway 115 near the Cottage House Restaurant around 8am Wednesday. According to wrwh.com, two vehicles collided head-on. Four people were hurt, two seriously.
The second accident happened around 9:15 am just east of Holiness Campground Road in traffic that was backed up by the first accident. A spokeswoman with the Georgia State Patrol says the driver of the vehicle that caused the second crash stated the sun was in his eyes as he topped the hill and he didn’t see the other vehicles in the roadway in time to stop.
The rear-end collision set off a chain reaction involving five vehicles. Two went down an embankment. Two drivers were injured and were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
