I-85 southbound from the Banks Crossing exit in Commerce is one lane and the northbound lanes are now shutdown due to a jack-knifed truck, according to Commerce city officials.
“Trucks are potentially being diverted to the Maysville exit and will be coming through downtown,” Commerce Main Street posted to Facebook just before 2 p.m. Friday. “…please stay home and off the roads. Snow is now covered with sleet and this makes driving conditions hazardous.”
In the post, city officials noted road conditions will likely worsen as temperatures drop, adding that utility crews continue to work to keep ice off the roads, but the roadways remain hazardous.
