The Cornelia (Lord’s Help) Soup Kitchen will open its doors to serve those in need on Christmas Day.
Doors will open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
“This special event offers a warm and welcoming environment for those in need, providing a hearty meal and a sense of community during the festive season,” the organization said in a Facebook post. “Volunteers and staff will work together to ensure that everyone who visits experiences the joy and generosity that embodies the spirit of Christmas.”
In 2022, Cornelia Soup Kitchen celebrated its reopening after a temporary two-year closure and around $7,000 raised by the community – as well as the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce – for necessary upgrades to the facility.
The kitchen is managed by volunteers from five area churches, with labor and time denoted to deliver members of the community a hot meal, company and a sense of community.
Cornelia Soup Kitchen, located at 236 Level Grove Road, invites anyone who wishes to spend part of Christmas Day serving – or visiting – members of the community to join their team of volunteers.
