Earlier this month, a Dec. 6 traffic stop in White County led to a raid, the arrests of three individuals and the seizure of large amounts of illegal drugs as well as a firearm.

Deputies initiated the stop on a White Ford F-150 driven by Charles Laster, 58, of Atlanta. Authorities say a canine alerted on possible drugs in the vehicle.

After conducting a search, deputies allegedly discovered more than an ounce of marijuana, individually packed methamphetamine along with an additional two ounces of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

A few days later on Monday, Dec. 10, authorities say a search warrant executed at Laster’s residence led to the discovery of 14 individually packaged quantity of methamphetamine, a small quantity of heroin, one ounce of black tar heroin, multiple drug-related objects – including scales, pipes, packaging material – and a firearm with the serial number removed.

Laster was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana greater than one ounce.

After the raid, Michelle Scott, 42, of Cleveland, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute as well as trafficking heroin.

Also arrested was Drew Kangiser, 43 of Cleveland, who was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking heroin and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
