AAA: Georgia gas prices see slight dip

Georgia gas prices have fallen slightly as colder weather rolls in.

On average, Georgians pay $2.90 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline – which is lower than the national average – though that figure is subject.

Monday’s state average is 3 cents less than a week ago, 5 cents less than a month ago and 5 cents less than last year, according to AAA spokesperson Montrae Waiters.

Waiters said the cost to drivers to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline is an average price of $43.50. Now, Georgians are paying almost $1 less to fill up at the pump than a month ago.

“Hopefully, gas prices in Georgia stay low, which will be a sweet deal for drivers hitting the road this Christmas,” Waiters said Monday. “Mild gasoline demand, steady supply, and low oil costs have contributed to pump prices sliding further. As for guessing when those gas prices will reverse course. Well, that’s still anyone’s call.”

Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has remained steady at $3.05, Waiters said.
