Suspected arsonist arrested after mobile home fire

Witnesses saw man running from property before fire

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Gainesville man accused of setting a mobile home on fire in Hall County last week.

Moises Ramirez, 26, is charged with arson in the first degree and other charges related to the fire that broke out at a residence in the 100 block of Odell Street on Nov. 30 at approximately 8 p.m.

Firefighters from Hall County Fire Rescue and the Gainesville Fire Department responded to the scene. When they arrived, the single-wide mobile home was 50 percent engulfed in flames, officials say. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. No fire personnel were injured.

The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office began investigating the fire. Witnesses reported seeing a man running from the property just before the fire broke out.

Investigators located and identified the suspect as Ramirez. He was arrested and charged with arson in the first degree and other related charges.
