1 person extricated, hospitalized after wreck

One person was extricated from a vehicle and hospitalized after a wreck in White County on Tuesday, Nov. 19, according to authorities.

At 12:16 p.m. the White County Sheriff’s Office, fire services and other emergency agencies responded to the call of a motor vehicle accident with one person entrapped in the area of Highway 254 and Ray Palmer Road in Cleveland.

Upon arrival, first responders found a single vehicle on its side. Extrication efforts soon began after the vehicle was stabilized. Once extricated, the sole occupant was treated on scene by White County EMS and then transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Officials say both Highway 254 and Ray Palmer Road temporarily closed as emergency crews worked to clear the road and removed the vehicle from the scene. The roadway was reopened at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Officials have no information regarding the occupant’s condition, and the accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
