Demorest, GA – Violinist Dr. Rachael Fischer will present a concert of classical music at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 26, in the Piedmont College Center for Worship and Music in Demorest.
A native of Ringgold, Fischer began studying the violin at the age of four and is an active soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, and educator. A member of the Piedmont music faculty, she is a founding member of Piedmont Camerata, the resident ensemble at the college.
For the Oct. 26 concert, Fischer will present works by Claude Debussy, Lukas Foss, and Ludwig Van Beethoven. The concert is free and everyone is invited. Fischer has performed across the United States and in Europe, performing for regional, national, and international events in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Scotland, and Slovenia as part of a violin and saxophone duo.
Fischer will be accompanied by Soojung Jeon, a doctoral student majoring in piano performance at the University of Georgia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in composition from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea, and holds master’s degrees in music education from Auburn University and the University of Georgia.
