Veterans Day is next Monday, November 11. Northeast Georgia businesses, schools, civic organizations will be honoring American veterans over the next week. Here is a schedule of dates, locations, and times that have been made available to Now Habersham for area veterans and citizens to attend.
Thursday, November 7
Rabun County Chamber of Commerce/ Forward Rabun 2024 Veterans Appreciation Dinner
The Rabun County Chamber of Commerce and Forward Rabun are presenting a Veterans Appreciation Dinner on Thursday at the Rabun County Civic Center.
Veterans are admitted free of charge. Admission for spouses is $10 and guests are $25. Tickets can be purchased at the Rabun County Welcome Center located at 10 Seed Tick Road or you may call 706-782-4812.
When: Thursday, November 7. Doors open at 4:45 p.m.

Friday, November 8
Clermont Veterans Day Program
The town of Clermont has partnered with the Chattahoochee Christian School for its annual Veterans Day Program. All active duty service members, veterans, and the community are encouraged to attend.

East Hall High Schools Veteran Day Event
The East Hall NJROTC and the Student Council will be honoring all veterans during a special ceremony. Lunch will be provided. Those wishing to attend the luncheon after the event, please RSVP here.

Cornelia Grant-Reeves VFW Post 7720 Bean Supper
The VFW post will be hosting a free bean supper. Donations will be accepted. Proceeds from donations will assist in funding the Habersham County Wall of Honor and Wreaths Across America.
Live music will be provided. The public is encouraged to attend.

Saturday, November 9
Clarkesville Baptist Church Veterans Appreciation Day
The Clarkesville Baptist Church will host a Veterans Appreciation Day. The event will begin with the Honor Guard Presentation of Colors in the church sanctuary. Following the presentation, a free Bar-B-Que lunch will be available in the Family Life Center. The guest speaker will be LTC Joseph Deanes USMC (Ret.) beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Hall County Rotary Club-Salute Our Veterans Project
The Rotary Club of Hall County is initiating its signature service project, “Salute Our Veterans,” for Veterans Day. The Rotary Club will place 369 memorial markers at Rock Creek Veterans Park during the event.
Former Governor Nathan Deal will be a guest speaker at the Veteran’s Day Celebration.

Monday, November 11
North Habersham Middle School Veterans Day Program
The Habersham County School System will honor area veterans during a ceremony on Veterans Day. The annual event rotates throughout the school system each year. North Habersham Middle School will host this year’s event. Area veterans are encouraged to attend.

Rabun County Veterans Day Ceremony
Rabun County will be hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at the Courthouse.
When: Monday, November 11, at 11 a.m.

Golden Corral has Military Appreciation Night
Golden Corral will be hosting their Military Appreciation Night on Veterans Day. Veterans and active duty members eat free.
The Cornelia Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans will have a table set up to greet and assist veterans that attend this event at the Cumming location.
When: Monday, November 11, beginning at 5 p.m.

Gainesville First United Methodist Church Veterans Day Concert – Remember and Honor
The Gainesville First United Methodist Church will be hosting a Veteran’s Day Concert. The Believers Band will be performing. The 50-piece band will present patriotic music that includes familiar favorites and new pieces. Admission is free.
