Minuard F. Hulsey, age 87 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on March 7, 1928, he was a son of the late Ezra and Eunice Perry Hulsey. Mr. Hulsey was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church and also was the owner and operator of Hulsey’s Quail Farm. He was also a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Rudolph, Jefferson and Herbert Hulsey; sister, Clara Rudeseal.
Surviving are wife of 65 years, Audrey Holbrook Hulsey of Mt. Airy; daughters and son-in-law, Judy and John Henzel of Royston and Edna and Joby McGahee of Hollywood; sons and daughter-in-law, Sammy Hulsey of Mt. Airy, Tim Hulsey of Toccoa and Jerry and Patti Hulsey of Toccoa; brothers, Julian Hulsey of Mt. Airy and Everett Hulsey of Athens; sisters, Margie Barnett of Mocksville, Tennessee, Thenia Tilson of Mt. Airy and Jean Purcell of Athens; grandchildren, Jake McGahee, Clayton McGahee, Joanna Roa, John Russell Henzel, Brian Hulsey, Curtis Hulsey, Blake Hulsey and Clint Hulsey; great grandchildren, Joseph and Mitchell McGahee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are 1 pm Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Walter Singletary officiating. Interment will follow in Glade Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
