Demorest, GA. – John Gorecki, MD, a board certified neurosurgeon with more than 25 years of experience, has joined the Habersham Medical Center Medical Staff.
With extensive, specialized training, Dr. John Gorecki, founder of Neurosurgery Answer, is dedicated to providing patients with needed answers for problems and injuries involving the brain, spine or nerves. “Dr. Gorecki has experience with the latest proven, state-of-the-art technology and procedures used to alleviate pain and treat neurologic disease,” says Jerry Wise, CEO of Habersham Medical Center. “He has taken care of thousands of patients and is known for his careful listening and interpretation of the details.”
His practice, Neurosurgery Answer, offers consultation to patients with clinics located in Demorest and Buford. “It is important to Dr. Gorecki to make it easy and accessible for patients by coming to their community,” adds Wise. “Having a clinic in Demorest, makes it especially easy for patients residing in the North Georgia area, and we are pleased that he will be performing procedures at Habersham Medical Center.”
Dr. Gorecki’s previous experience includes Section Chief for Neurosurgery for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, Section Chief for Via Christy Medical Center and Director of Gamma Knife for Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, and Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery for Duke University Medical Center. He also has had faculty appointments at Kansas University Medical Center and the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.
He earned his medical degree from Queens University at Kingston in Canada. He completed his residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Toronto and an internship at Saint Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Gorecki is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and The American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Gorecki is married and has four children; the youngest of whom desires to follow in his father’s footsteps and is working to become a future neurosurgeon.
