Costumed children and those young at heart took to the streets to make Halloween memories.
The lines were long, but the candy lasted as the Squares of Clarkesville, Demorest, and Cornelia joined in the fun. From businesses to trunks of cars, the community had much to offer in celebrating Halloween.
“The turnout has been incredible,” a Clarkesville First Methodist Church participant remarked. “I’ve been here for over an hour and there hasn’t been a break in the line. We just keep giving out candy and having a blast. The creative ideas flowed from Harry Potter to Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus, as did the smiles.

Businesses in Cornelia, Clarkesville, and Demorest filled the bags with candy and toys. Most created a theme and dressed in costumes.
“This is such a safe way to do Halloween,” said one parent of three little ones. “I couldn’t do it any other way.”
