Thousands of costumed candy-seekers are expected to turn out for Clarkesville’s annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event on Thursday.

If you plan to attend, you’d better arrive early to get a good parking space.

The city of Clarkesville issued a notice that for the safety of trick-or-treaters, traffic will not be allowed on the square from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31. The parking areas on both sides of the square will be temporarily closed.

Vehicles may stay parked, but no vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit during those hours.

Similar events will be held in Demorest and Cornelia. Click here for more on Thursday’s local Halloween events.
