ATLANTA – Piedmont women’s soccer has earned the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament, as the league office released the seedings and bracket Monday.
In taking the No. 2 seed, the Lions earn a first-round bye and will host the winner of the first-round game between No. 3 seed Belhaven and No. 6 seed LaGrange at the Walker Athletic Complex on Wednesday, November 6.
Piedmont finished the regular season with a 5-2-1 CCS record, tied with Covenant and Belhaven for second-best behind Maryville’s perfect 8-0 mark.
However, the Lions took the tiebreaker over both the Blazers and Scots, courtesy of the team’s 2-1 home win over Belhaven on Oct. 9.
This will be the third iteration of the CCS Women’s Soccer Tournament. Piedmont captured the title at home in the inaugural event of 2022 before falling at Maryville in the semifinals in 2023.
