DEMOREST, Ga. – Piedmont volleyball overtook Wesleyan for a 3-1 victory on Senior Night at Cave Arena Wednesday.
The Lions took the first and fourth sets in dominant fashion and bounced back after the Wolves appeared to take the momentum with a strong second set.
On a night in which Piedmont honored seniors Bryn White, Jessica Sconyers, and Vanessa Manzo prior to the match, all three contributed heavily to the win.
White tied her career-high with seven kills, while Sconyers added 12 kills with a .355 hitting percentage, and Manzo paced the team with 42 assists.

Junior Katie Hubbard tied her career best with 16 kills and a .344 hitting percentage, matching the career high she set last time out against Maryville.
The Lions left no doubt in a dominant opening set, racing out to a big advantage early in the set and never looking back on their way to a 25-12 win.
However, Wesleyan fought back, taking the second set 25-23 despite a late Piedmont rally.
The Wolves kept the momentum into the third set, as they jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead. But Piedmont was undeterred, fighting back to eventually take control of the set and run away with a 25-17 win to take a 2-1 match lead.
The fourth set mostly mirrored the first, with Piedmont running away with a 25-9 win. The seniors delivered a fitting sendoff, as the team’s final three points were kills by White, Sconyers and Manzo.
Up next, the Lions will travel to LaGrange, Georgia to take on the Panthers as well as Covenant in the team’s penultimate CCS tri-match of the season. First serve against LaGrange is scheduled for Saturday, October 26 at 12 p.m.
