Barrow County authorities are searching for an “absconded” sex offender.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office issued a notice via Facebook on Tuesday, Oct. 22, for members of the public in North Georgia communities to be on the lookout for Darin McMurray.
McMurray is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs approximately 174 pounds, according to police.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s sex offender registry shows McMurray was arrested and convicted in March of 2021 for sexual battery against a child under 16-years-old and criminal attempt to commit a felony.
McMurray’s last known address is listed at the 2000 block of Kirkland Circle in Statham, according to the registry.
