It’s been a bad week on the roads in Habersham County, with a series of wrecks keeping law enforcement busy.
Three rear-end wrecks occurred within an hour in Demorest and Clarkesville on Tuesday. The first wreck on History Hwy. 441 in Demorest involved a Habersham County sheriff’s deputy. Emergency personnel were leaving the scene when they encountered another rear-end wreck a short distance away.
Thirty minutes later, a Honda Civic and a Dodge pickup truck collided in Clarkesville at GA 17/Toccoa Highway and Hills Crossing Road. Traffic was detoured around the wreck as crews worked to clear the scene.
No injuries were reported in any of the accidents.
The wrecks come on the heels of a serious crash that happened Monday, Oct. 14, on GA 365 at Duncan Bridge Road near Baldwin. Six people were taken to the hospital, including one man who was airlifted with life-threatening injuries. The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the wreck.
