Fisher-Price infant swings recalled after deaths

Snuga Infant Swings among several items recalled over child safety concerns

In a series of safety announcements, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued recalls for several products, including infant swings, playpens, and Halloween projector flashlights, citing potential risks of injury and death.

The most significant recall involves over 2 million Snuga Infant Swings manufactured by Fisher-Price. The recall comes after reports of five deaths associated with the product, prompting concerns about suffocation hazards. Consumers are urged to stop using the affected swings immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or replacement.

Safety concerns were also raised about Gimars Playpens, sold exclusively on Amazon.com. Gimars Playpens were recalled due to entrapment and suffocation hazards; the design violated federal regulations for play yards, according to the CPSC.

Additionally, NPW Group recalled Halloween Projector Flashlights sold at Target, warning of fire and burn hazards.

Other recalls include Allen + Roth Lighted Bathroom Mirrors sold at Lowe’s due to injury and laceration risks, and Droyd Fury Youth All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and Droyd Multi-Purpose Helmets, both distributed by Reyhee Group, due to laceration and head injury hazards, respectively.

More details about the recalled products can be found at www.cpsc.gov. Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission-ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
