The North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Economic Development division will host its biannual Economic Development Summit on October 17 at the Currahee campus conference center. The event, themed “Navigating Tomorrow: Trends and Workforce Innovations,” will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The event will feature a keynote address from Stephanie Scearce, vice president of workforce innovation for the Georgia Association of Manufacturers (GAM), as well as an update on the Northeast Georgia Inland Port from the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), regional housing data, economic development updates from NGTC and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), and a panel discussion.
“NGTC’s Economic Development Summit provides a unique opportunity to analyze our community’s current and future needs and to assist our business and industry leaders in preparing to meet those needs,” said Leslie McFarlin, NGTC Vice President of Economic Development.
The event will conclude with campus tours and lunch provided by the culinary arts program for $10 per person. The NGTC Currahee campus is located at 9238 Highway 17 South, Toccoa.
