Lions move up in final round to finish third at Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Piedmont women’s golf team moved up the leaderboard to finish third in the Alamo City Classic on Tuesday. Sarah Fox posted a career-best 73 in the final round of the event, vaulting up 14 places to finish tied for sixth overall.

Fox, Erin Donovan and Keegan Goins all earned All-Tournament honors in the tournament with top-6 finishes.

Erin Donovan led the Lions with her fourth-place finish, carding an 80 in the second round. Sarah Fox’s 73 was courtesy of three birdies to finish just two over on the day.

Tied with Fox in sixth overall was Keegan Goins, who shot a 78 Tuesday. Goins made 13 pars in the final round of the event.

Abigail Evans was Piedmont’s final counting score with an 84, while Marissa Weaver shot an 88 to conclude the tournament.

Trinity (TX) held on for the team title shooting a 612 (+44) while Jessica Mason, Trinity (TX), took the individual title finishing with a 147 (+5).

Up next, Piedmont will conclude the fall schedule at the Chick-fil-A Invitational in Rome, Georgia on October 28-29.
