No one was injured in a single-vehicle accident on GA 197 just outside of Clarkesville Friday afternoon.
According to Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore, the accident was reported at 3:51 p.m. and occurred between Donald Cleveland Road and Raccoon Lane.
Moore says the wreck occurred when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned down a 15-foot embankment. The vehicle landed on its roof near the woodline.
GA 197 was initially reduced to a single lane of traffic but later closed momentarily while the vehicle was recovered and towed away.
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. According to Moore, no charges are pending.
