A two vehicle accident on US 441/GA 15 in the Turnerville community affected the southbound lanes Wednesday morning during the morning commute. There were no injuries reported.
The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. at US 441/GA 15 at Travis Smith Road, resulting in the southbound lanes being blocked temporarily while emergency crews cleared the scene. Southbound traffic was detoured onto Travis Smith Road for over an hour.
The two vehicles impacted at the intersection with a Subaru Forester coming to rest blocking the right lane of southbound US 441/GA 15. The second vehicle, a Ford Expedition, crossed the northbound lanes and came to rest on the shoulder of the highway.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
