After a week on the run, a wanted Toccoa fugitive is now in custody.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley tells Now Habersham deputies arrested Rocky Garrett on Thursday, September 5. The 54-year-old fled from deputies in a high-speed chase on August 30.

Shirley says deputies caught him walking near his home. He says surveillance deputies had been camped “out in the woods” waiting for Garrett since daylight.

Garrett faces felony warrants in Franklin County for aggravated battery and terroristic threats, as well as a parole violation in Stephens County for prior crimes, including aggravated assault on a peace officer and weapons charges.
