Stephens County SO asks for public’s help to find wanted Carnesville man

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office has issued a lookout for a suspect who ran from a traffic stop in August. That suspect, identified as 57-year-old Tracy Holbrook, now has active arrest warrants against him.

According to information released by the sheriff’s office, Holbrook fled from an attempted stop near the Franklin County line on August 14. The chase reached speeds of over 100 mph. Authorities say during the chase, Holbrook ditched the Nissan Titan he was driving behind a house at 1980 Red Hill Road. When deputies searched the vehicle, they found suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia, but a K9 search for the suspect came up empty.

Using information gathered in the investigation, authorities traced the vehicle back to Holbrook. They have been unable to find him.

“Both the Franklin and Stephens County Sheriff’s Offices were running down leads on Tracy. When those leads failed, we chose to post the BOLO [Be On The Lookout] asking assistance from our citizens,” explains Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley.

According to Shirley, Holbrook is now wanted on active arrest warrants for two counts of illegal possession of controlled substances, possession and use of drug-related objects, prescription drugs not in their original containers, failure to maintain lane, speeding in excess of state and zone speed limits, and trying to conceal or misrepresent a license plate.

Anyone who knows where Holbrook is or who has information that could help law enforcement find him should contact the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 886-2525.
