Clarkesville Council reschedules meeting/ public hearing date

The Clarkesville City Council has rescheduled its council meeting date and public hearing in September. The City Council was scheduled to meet on Monday, September 9. The new date for its council meeting will be Monday, September 16.

The agenda for the September council meeting is not available at this time. However, one item scheduled for that meeting is the public hearing for the annexation and rezoning of 933 Rocky Branch Road, according to Zoning Administrator Caleb Gaines.

During last month’s Clarkesville Planning Commission meeting, more than 50 people attended the public hearing for the annexation and rezoning of the Rocky Branch property. Several people spoke against the annexation and rezoning, as well as the proposed development of 80 housing units.

The rescheduled council meeting and public hearing will be held on Monday, September 16, at 6 p.m. The meeting location will be at Clarkesville City Hall at 123 North Laurel Drive in Clarkesville.
